The Chris Gent/BS show should have occured by now in London. It would be nice to get some word on what was said.

I continue to call various US/Canadian retailers. 100% of those contacted in Canada so far have their act together, know the product, have prospects and are selling phones. They are all optimistic.

Not true in the US. 1/4 of those I call are clueless. Another 1/4 are less than enthusiastic and the others are very enthusiastic and are similar to Canada. I have spoken to 5 Norsat offices, 2 in Canada, 3 in US. All Norsat folks with the exception of one in Texas really have their act together.

G*Canada has their act together. Most outlets listed on the web page have the name of the G* contact and the phone #'s are correct. None of those listed in the US have names!!! Also, Phoenix changed its area code for some locations from 602 to 480 but G* USA hasn't bothered to update the web page. BTW, G* Canada updated the web page in one day after my discussion with Peter White last Feb so it obviously isn't that big of a deal. Some of the ph #'s for Texas retailers are wrong. I got a travel agency and tire store.

Despite G*USA not seeming to care about these details, progress is being made especially in Canada. Here are a few observations:

1. Canada is going well, better than the US so far.
2. Most feel demand is not a problem. Perception of G*'s viability is. Lots of fence sitters. Iridium has done untold damage. Many will switch when they shut down. Many need to be convinced G* will succeed. This perception is not so strong in Canada.
3. G*USA is obviously concentrating on large vertical customers. I hope they land one soon.
4. G*USA has gone stealth. They must have learned this from Loral.
5. Back to Iridium: One rep said he has just hired two ex-Iridium reps and is now working their prospect lists.
6. Another rep has closed 5 deals out of 24 calls. Not bad! He has been at it for about 3 weeks.

Now we need some word from London!
