QCOM volume today! Wow!

There are 708,241,000 shares of Qualcomm outstanding. Today, as of 2:37 p.m. (EDT), 32,685,400 shares had been traded. To me, that's incredible. 4.6% of all Qualcomm shares have been traded today. Almost one in every 20 shares has traded hands so far in less than one market day.

If you assume that corporate officials, like Jacobs (etc.), are still holding their shares, what percentage of "public" shares actually traded hands today? Are the institutions trying to get them all now at these basement prices? Has the retail market just about been fully cleansed of those of us with the audacity to believe that we have the right to invest in the market without the sage advice of a mutual fund?

Just porchin' (and getting sick of it all),
John
