So the self, which you shouldn't believe in, has the good sense to believe in the correct God? How can this imperfect self be trusted to ferret out the true God or Gods? Of course I don't really know any materialists- so I can't comment on that aspect. Even Del isn't a materialist.

I see no empirical evidence that God exists, and fairly considerable empirical evidence that I exist. So I believe that I exist, and I do not believe that God exists. Is this not rational?
