That does sound unfair to the Yemenese. If a philosophy can be misused for murder I wouldn't worship it. That's why I don't worship anything. Everything has within it (it seems to me) the potential for both "good" and "evil" even though I don't see things exactly that way, I'll use those terms. When you suspend your reason and give up to belief you suspend your critical logical centers- centers that I think may control violent impulses, and especially violent GROUP impulse behavior. Belief in ANYTHING is capable of doing that- disbelief doesn't seem to be capable of motivating people to do much harm at all. So, I would prefer all people to be agnostic and tentative about their beliefs, if I had my druthers, which I don't.
