Be a politician! Buy a partial position here. If it goes up from here, congratulate yourself on how smart you were. If it goes down, be pleased that you have the opportunity to add to your position at a lower price.

Sell a put option instead, at a price that you would not mind owning the stock...

If the stock goes down, then you get to buy it (at the strike price), AND congratulate yourself for receiving the premium.

If the stock goes up, then congratulate yourself for receiving the premium, (which hopefully, the put option will expire worthless)... In this market there are good chances you may still get to buy it later, and not necessarily at a higher price.

Either way you win... (imo)
