My friend the day trader is looking for a day job. I find it hard to believe Bambs but I guess it's possible. I have heard this before and ultimately the market makes an honest man out of us all, even Bambs. BTW what happened to the 5th day. Is that Bambs day off? or does he just break even that day?

SyncMan,

Daytraders do the same job as a MM trading the house account. The only difference is we don't have analysts hyping are stocks so we can make a profit and then short to the public. Also, we can see the "paid for order flow" profit off the gaps like they do. Oh, one more thing that we can't do that we'd love too....is rip off our customers...MM's love to hold up falling stocks with their customers large buy orders. Then they complete the customers order by shorting to it at the offer price. They then watch the stock they were holding up fall a couple of points and cover their short with a nice little profit. Nothing like getting a 3-5 point gift on 10 to 20 thousands shares a couple times a week. That will sure help your year end bonus!
