JRI, you addressed this to bambs but posted it to me so I will address MY part but I suspect bambs is pretty much the same.

I could care less about most of that stuff ...not that I don't HEAR it but I guess it just goes into my subsconscious like a lot of other stuff like that.

I trade my charts...period. I do listen to other stuff and see if I am MISSING something when I look at my charts. If it still looks good I forget it because all it does is clutter my mind with things I really don't need to do what I do.

Example: 2 of the stocks I shorted at the open today were MUR and EOG. I can't tell you a single thing about them other than MUR is Murphy Oil. I don't even know the name of EOG. I don't need to.

Now don't take what I said as a smartass answer because it was not meant that way. Just only way I know how to explain it.

PS I do know AMD's name and it gave me a huge profit today from the short side and a small profit from the long side. I had said I would not cover but I SAW the bottom at 68 and went long to 71 7/8 and sold. So I am now flat AMD but will reshort more than likely tomorrow.
