While I agree with you that China's acceptance to the WTO will mean that some jobs will leave the US, the increase in consumption of US goods by Chinese citizens will far outweight the loss.

What kind of jobs will be lost to China - most of the labor is untrained labor. It'll be lower wage jobs. Chinese laborers that are put to work will have income to spend on goods. Some of these goods will be complex products and systems from high-tech companies which employ skilled labor.
So, there will be a net loss of low skilled jobs in the US.
There will be a net gain of skilled labor jobs in the US
There will be greater import of lower cost commodities from China
There will greater exports of high margin more expensive technology from the US AND Japan.

I should also point out that that "great sucking sound" that Perot predicted with NAFTA - never occurred. In fact there has been a net gain in labor here in the US AND Mexico AND better prices for everyone.
