Really, the person to ask here is Earlie. For the fab news, we already knew Intel planned to up capex to at least $6B this year. Since the expansion doesn't pay off for two years, it says only that Intel foresees needing that capacity then, but little about current demand. FWIW, that appears solid but unspectacular. Me, I think this capacity expansion just reflects Intel's realization that they cut costs too much the last years, which sure juiced gross margins, but has left them scuffling a bit. -mb
