This is something I have said in the past and it is so Key to an investment philosophy like LTB&H that too many people miss it. That is why market timing doesn't work unless you happen to be a rare individual who has an artistic like ability in this area which 99% of us don't have.

As far as valuation is concerned, in this connection, it can be used to increase ones probability of the stock's price increasing in a favorable market. In this scenario if you pick 10 stocks that have a high probability of good outcomes then it is likely that 1 would be a dud, 4 or 5 would be do nothings, 3 or 4 would do ok and 1 would be a screamer. Your portfolio would do very well with these results but GG trys to shift the distribution of outcomes more in your favor. From a +1 sigma investor to a +2 sigma investor so to speak.

Tom
