Steven, are you equating the deportation of illegal adults in INS raids the same as abducting a 6 year from a private home? I also noticed in nearly everyone of those raids the people harboring the illegal aliens were charged with a crime. Strange how that hasn't happened with regard to Elians relatives. Elian wasn't an illegal alien. To use that as a reason to break into someones private home, without a court order, is a stretch to say the least. I'm surprised to see you clinging to such position. The boy was *not* an illegal alien. He had applied for asylum and was awaiting the courts decision. Happens quite a bit to people who have risked their life and escaped Fidel's Island paradise. The press came and went from the relatives house nearly every day. It wasn't some dangerous back-hole farm where the people lived under the cover of darkness avoiding the police. There was absolutely no reason to surround the place with agents and bust in the door without first presenting a court order. Law abiding Americans have certain rights. The Florida relatives committed *no* crime. Otherwise, they would have been charged with something. All they had to do was walk up to the house with a couple of policemen and present a court order to the inhabitants. After that point, if resistance was offered, perhaps you and the rest of the supporters of Elians raid would have a point. The fact that it didn't happen in that fashion, demonstrates how insecure the Justice Department felt after the 11th circuit courts decision. Politically, it was simply unpalatable for them to lose face and await the courts ruling regarding Elians asylum request. So they had to act! And act they did. Therefore, the entire ugly episode of pointing automatic weapons at law abiding citizens was politically motivated. Politics drove the actions of the Justice Department. *Politics* nothing more, nothing less. Unfortunately, I will be unavailable tonight to answer any of the other posts in my inbox, or discuss this further with you. Have a great night Steven. Michael
