I never stated my position on thin clients, so your attempt to put words in my posts is dishonest and you know it.

As far as Unix vs Win9x for desktop use, I don't believe that most people who are able to use Windows and Windows apps can successfully use Unix today. When Unix and Linux can compete on ease of use and application availability with the then current versions of Windows, then consumers will decide which they prefer.

If you'd like to compare Unix security with Windows, then again, I'd say the only reasonable comparison is with Windows 2000 since they are in the same competitive space. Security is sufficient for most uses on either system.
