How about your posts to him?

But, Ed is right: "let's maintain substance on what is left of this serious thread." So much to be learned, gained and shared from options veterans.

RE: SDLI versus JDSU. --and speculative options on JDSU

There is one reason for JDSU's underperformance relative to SDLI. That is the DOJ.
The uncertainty is what is hurting the stock right now. Approval of the merger would cause an explosive move in the stock even in a flat market.

I am optimistic on an approval on the deal----I won't get into the reasons cited by JDSU/ETEK management. The recently hard line comments against WCOM along with this Airline deal (Microsoft case as well) may result in the JDSU/ETEK going through a little easier. Too much work to do.
After all, DOJ just does not want to have the image of being anti-business. That image problem may result in a tendency to approve the deal if it is borderline case, IMHO.

Very speculative June call options on JDSU might be one of the best plays out there. Since the shareholder vote (ETEK) is on June 28, I believe they expect a decision before that---hopefully it would during options expiration week. (20 days from the date the information requested by the DOJ is provided) Timing the buy will be tricky. I plan several buys on different days. It will be like buying lotteries if JDSU does not move up too much in the next week or so.
I will probably start tomorrow.

Approval of the deal will put JDSU in a different league, IMHO.

That knife cuts both ways. I agree with you, but will not be baited by an egomaniac with a deep-seated inferiority complex.

Very funny post. You will "not be baited"? Edamo's posts are followed by 3 or 4 from you. If that's not being baited, what is? :-)
