>Looks like we are in bed with 20 million Italians. fwiw, couple of worthwhile Goldy comments on the new contract wins following their meeting at CMVT's Israeli production facility (via the 2nd Annual Israel Technology Investor trip). the excerpts are pre-earnings release (may 30), but i'm sure Elan Z., et al., will put something out today too. NotgonnakickIsabellaRossellinioutofbedforeatingbiscottiCM ----- "During its presentation, management noted that the company now serves over 330 telecom carriers representing over 210m end-users (roughly 75% of these are wireless users). Management estimates that its customers' end-user base is growing by over 1m per week (Comverse realizes incremental revenue for each addition). Comverse now has 16 of the worlds 20 largest telecom carriers as its customers; this is up from 14 of 20. One of the new additions to the list of top-carriers is Telecom Italia Mobil, announced last week. In our view, Comverse's large, entrenched customer base represents a substantial new-business opportunity as carriers begin to layer-on new, wireless data services to their existing voice-messaging platforms. We have recently seen several large existing voice-mail customers--such as Guangdong Mobile Communcations in China--sign contracts for large-scale mobile-data platform deployments." and later ... "Comverse has recently announced a number of large contract wins with large wireless carriers. Over the last two weeks, the company announced significant messaging/wireless data contracts with 1) Guangdong Mobile Communications, the largest provincial mobile operator in China with over 7M customers; 2) One2One, a UK based mobile operator with over 5M subscribers; 3) Cincinatti Bell, which will use Comverse's systems to offer a unified messaging solution (called Complete Mail) to its residential customers and 4) Telecom Italia Group, Europe's largest mobile operator, with over 19m subscribers in Italy and 16m subscribers through its foreign affiliates. In our view, the Telecom Italia win is very exciting as it adds one of the largest operators in the world to Comverse's customer base, increasing the company's already very good revenue and earnings visibility."
