Just-Off....

>>Now wouldn't it be nice if before I sent it, the people at Just-On would have returned some of my telephone calls?>>

Paul:

Great letter!!

Forget about Just-On. If they can't return a phone call, just do what you did: record this fact on SI. Make it know to the ENTIRE Novell community.

Someone at Just-On is "just-off."

Just have faith that there is some individual - executive or employee - who reads this thread who is "always-on."

If I were inside Novell right now, I'd make a habit of making EVERY idea and contact and piece of energy that's shared on this thread made know to the appropriate individuals inside Novell. This isn't our job.

The more important information - such as your letter - that gets shared here, the more individuals will pay attention to SI.

I'm a firm believer that threads like this will have to naturally evolve and expand to incorporate REAL-TIME information about customers, projects, problems, etc. There is no reason we can't make this thread an open kitchen-sink-like case study.

Case in point. I called Novell corporate yesterday and got the number for a regional Novell office and left a message for a salesperson. That salesperson DID return my call.

This IS POSITIVE!!

I haven't spoken to this salesperson. But I intend to have lunch and share some/all of what we are working on in the financial services industry.

With the exception of 1 or 2 short email responses from Eric, NOT ONE executive inside Novell has ever followed up with me personally. I have the emails. Individuals below Eric were to have followed up with me personally. NOT ONE ever did, period. And some of these folks eventually left the company for the same reasons why the stock price has been cratered.

The Old Novell political club has been a destructive wreaking ball against shareholder value.

It's time to use SI to expose more and more of these INDIVIDUALS who have been hiding out inside Novell and have NOT been taking simple risks in the form of returning calls.

Thanks Paul. You continue to provide a great service to this community.

Peace.

GO!!

The real interesting implementation of this would be if websites would allow you to download DIRECTLY to your JustOn account instead of your local PC. Then you could have that file available for use anytime, anywhere.

Driveway.com is already working this type of "enhancement" into their "internet storage" services. When you are ready to download a file from a specific website, there's a link to start the download to your online storage.

Would be nice to see Novell's JustOn service integrated in this way on some website no? Perhaps a good strategy would be to start their own service like driveway.com then begin signing up websites to leverage this service as well.

Of course ISPs and ASPs would be high on the list of this push but I could see a Novell hosted solution for sites.

Interesting stuff...
