Don -- if the jury was still out T would not be 3/16 from its low. T is the widest held stock I believe I heard yesterday and it sinks on bad news and nothing helps. NOVL is not the company that T is in the eyes of widespread holders-- T in many eyes is more connected to the net than most realize but is no considered by anyone as a tech, communications. The tracking stock did nothing to slow the bleed for them and they will be a real buy when it turns.
Much of the current lack of value is based on what NOVL HAS. The mgmt team that sunk the ship! Also the history, the last time it was a problem to fix and now it is a REoccurance to be expected again from what level. Those things, the lack of earnings, the loss of 'growth stock' status, and more is distracting from the products.
The parts are only worth what someone would pay. Now they are worth just what we see, $9! Possibly a little more or less after next qtrs disappointment and do not believe it is all priced in. A buyer now would expect a discount. If in a short period they can actually show some progress I would expect 22 for the company as long as mgmt does not look to go along with the company and $20 if so. Based on stock instead of cash I would expect 10 - 15%$ more.
Time frame IMO to see more than 20 - 22 depends on any future eps surprises and changes they doubtfully will make. If the economy remains strong against the wishes of Al is another factor. With luck 25 in 3 years without a buyout. Ask those that bought in the 20s and 30s if that is acceptable. They have the producyts and customer base. The ONLY thing they lack is just as important and that is business sense and ANY concern for shareholder value.
