Where will AMD get the 2 billion + bucks to build a 300 MM FAB for .13/copper by 2002 to compete with the one INTC announced yesterday? Maybe this is why AMD is having a hard time here. The announcement from INTC was a surprise to many. If AMD has a reasonable plan, things will work out fine.

Elmer,

I still think AMD would be better off using Dresden for Flash.

FASL is building another fab. If AMD decides to use any of it's own capacity for flash, I it will be Austin, after Dresden is fully ramped.
