Conversation with next door office secretary while getting herbal tea:

S: What's the market doing?
DAK: Well, it's up today!
S: It's gotta come a LONG way back though.
DAK: Well, I don't know if it'll make it this year.
S: You're kidding right?
DAK: Any more morning thunder in there??

Cant find enough roughnecks, welders, most have moved on to other jobs. Contract labor business (rent a bum trailers) are starting to pop up here and there. Unemployment is limited to the infirm and the lazy. Skilled labor rates are up as bidding wars for qualified people exist. Construction business (platform construction) has been in a little bit of a slump and hasn't seemed to pick up as much as the service sector(maintenance).

heinz,

I just read on one of the better bullish boards the claim that there is $1.7 trillion on the sidelines. This seems *totally outrageous* to me. Have you read anything regarding an estimate?
