panic, <Do we have a taste of manipulation? > I-watch is showing clear selling pressure from somewhere. The big-guys knew it and the buys did not surface until the sell went through. <Experience tells me these is some bad thing cooking. But it's hard to believe based on all data and response from AMD IR. And Dan Niles jsut said (yesterday?) he favors AMD among others. I am inclined to some hedge fund unwinding or manipulation. > It is HIGHLY unlikely that there is something wrong at AMD. Anyone, What stops someone (or a backroom group of people) from buying a large amount of a stock over a period of a couple of months while pushing the price higher and making money on call options that they buy at the same time, and then turning around and selling over a few months while making profit in puts? The stock is a wash, but they have made a fortune in options. Pravin.
