panic,

<Do we have a taste of manipulation? >

I-watch is showing clear selling pressure from somewhere. The big-guys knew it and the buys did not surface until the sell went through.

<Experience tells me these is some bad thing cooking. But it's hard to believe based on all data and response from AMD IR. And Dan Niles jsut said (yesterday?) he favors AMD among others. I am inclined to some hedge fund unwinding or manipulation. >

It is HIGHLY unlikely that there is something wrong at AMD. One more hedge fund going down?

<Look at today's options actions, it's very suspicious. Somebody comment on this? >

Care to expand? Can you tell us what you see?

Chuck

Anyone,

What stops someone (or a backroom group of people) from buying a large amount of a stock over a period of a couple of months while pushing the price higher and making money on call options that they buy at the same time, and then turning around and selling over a few months while making profit in puts? The stock is a wash, but they have made a fortune in options.

Pravin.

panic mob:

One year trend line still in tact...Just testing the lower boundary...Volume today is huge with over 5 million at noon...Looks like a record volume day may be shaping up...Since the classic reversal didn't occur yesterday (i.e. close positively), I wouldn't necessarily rule out its occurrence today!

Once this AM selling dries up, AMD could SPRINT!
