DUBLIN, May 25 (Reuters) - Workers at U.S. group Pfizer Inc.'s (NYSE:PFE - news) pharmaceuticals plant in Ireland have begun an unofficial strike in a dispute over the introduction of new machinery, the company said on Thursday.

The plant, at Ringaskiddy in the southern county of Cork, produces the bulk mix for the anti-impotence drug Viagra.

A spokesman said some 100 production line workers were involved in the strike and production had been affected. The plant employs some 400 people.
