I think Harmon is stretching a bit. People were looking at what is now sort of the "internet" back in 93/94. There were conferences galore about the information superhighway back then, but the terminology was more along the lines of interactive multimedia, new media, on-demand television, electronic banking. The problem was that the network technology wasn't going to roll out fast enough.

In 93, I started coverage of Intuit noting that its future was in electronic financial services, not necessarily selling packaged software.
