The irony is that it's not just the CAFEmobiles that are punishing the tall people. Last November I went to the local Auto Show, expecting to walk away in a state of undiluted Lust for the new, re-engineered Mercedes S-class. And y'know what!? The thing, although long, sleek and LOADED with the latest techno-luxe wizardry, was so short of headroom that the angular shaving brush I call a "head" TOUCHED the <bad word> headliner! I was, like, bummed. Like declining a third date because even though she's gorgeous she only talks about herself and what snits all her friends are. I know you have one of the Absolute Headroom Monarchs on the road today. Too bad it's a truck. <ducking> <giggling> The new Suburban. Argh. The previous boxy one ... I could sit bolt upright in taht mama hog and feel totally comfy. I had high hopes for the new one ... improved suspension, more fuel-efficient engine, long list of good things. And the SAME <bad word, again> THING happened. Outboard stations, center bench? Hello headliner! Poooo. GM is gonna sell a LOT of Excursions this year. NO way I can justify owning such a Complete Pig. But man, is it cushy.
