i know it was GS. i think they're acting on orders of Bubba and his finance underling to save the market. there must be some kind of agreement that they will be bailed out if they lose in these manipulations. alternatively they acted on behalf of some of the larger mutuals...which i believe also collude to run certain stocks and paint the tape when necessary. lots of vested interests that want to keep the bubble going, or rather, help it get back up on its feet.
