Troy,

His argument that people whos shares are borrowed have something stolen from them is as ridiculous as saying people who buy on margin are stealing the money of the brokerage house the use because they are borrowing it. Both aspects are the nature of margin accounts. Not only that the person whos shares are borrowed can have them to do whatever he wants whenever his shares are borrowed. So you should add that clause to your ladder analogy.
