Seven years of drought and a mid-sized earthquake did some damage. I'm not sure you can directly attribute that to greed, but perhaps it was retribution ;^))

As you know I do not believe in divine retribution for our excesses....however I do believe that there can be problems when things get out of balance.

I had I had read that SV's problems stemmed from other issues than drought and earthquakes. I thought it had to do with the competition between the hi-tech industry in Boston and the one in SV. SV ending up winning but it was a struggle. Maybe I am wrong.
