Ya, the common opinion now is that DSL is better because cable is shared. That was the point of the dinner party story. One of those dinner party participants, lives just a block away from me and has been complaining for years that AOL is too slow and cuts her off. I've suggested a number of times that she get cable access but she never went for it. Now suddenly, she's hot for DSL.

However, If RBOCs are pushing fiber deeper into the neighborhood by creating these remote terminals, isn't this the best way to provision DSL for the future.

Do you think they need to be accurate in their jobs? Or is this the new era of knowing nothing and being rewarded for failure? Sure sounds like ATHM management.

One reason I have 'liked' Armstrong is for his stance on cable. The street continues to pound on T, but he appears at least a bit visionary on my radar.
