I am kind of neutral on techs here. But ultra bearish on financials.

Thats why I suggested a paired trade. If the market were to rally, I expect the techs would outperform the financials. On a decline, I suspect the same. Index options are an option, or picking the best and worst equities from each segment could produce better gains (long INTC short CMB?).

If you just short the financials, and you are wrong (rare but possable), you have downside risk. Just an idea that has worked for me in the past.

The regional banks for the new holdrs were down over 2% today but yesterday were up 4-5%.

They're especially 'kind' to the stocks with exposure to investment banking, trust departments, etc. - STT, NTRS, BK.
