One of the most disgusting aspects of the bubble has been all the fund adds touting triple digit performance.

If anything was ever designed to ignite greed among the naive and foolish so that they can be taken to the cleaners by Wall Street sharks -- this is it.

Naturally these adds never mention the enormous risks of investing in funds after huge upside moves. Nor the large risks taken to generate those returns. Nor the fact that the vast majority of funds in any fund family have far lower returns.

These adds are more dangerous in some ways than cigarette adds in my judgement. They should be required to carry warnings of the risks involved just like cigarette adds do.
