Dot-Coms Embrace Novell Caching to Ease Net Congestion, Improve Response Time
Datek Online and ZipLink Canada Accelerate Content Delivery and Reduce Infrastructure Costs With Novell Internet Caching Services
ORLANDO, Fla., ISPCon, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Novell, Inc. (Nasdaq: NOVL - news), a leading provider of Net services software, today announced Datek Online and ZipLink Canada have chosen the Novell© Internet Caching System(TM) (ICS) to simplify and accelerate Net traffic. These leading companies are using ICS in a Net environment to increase the speed of content delivery and transaction processing on their Web sites, as well as reduce costs associated with buying and managing additional Web server hardware and software. Novell today is demonstrating ICS at the ISPCon trade show to the service provider market where it will participate in an hour-long panel discussion titled, ``Caching to the Rescue.'' The panel, led by Peter Christy, research director with Jupiter Communications, will take place on Wednesday, May 24 at 1:30 p.m. EDT.

ZipLink Canada, formerly Interhop, is the largest national Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Canada and provides bandwidth and services to more than 50 ISP franchises. ZipLink Canada's business model is to offer franchisees a full range of Internet services to their local customers without investing heavily in infrastructure and without maintaining a large technical staff.
