I guess the bearish case has to be proved wrong before we get a sustainable rally in the markets. My guess was that it was over yesterday but I was obviously premature in my conclusions. However, it will be interesting to see how the market reacts before a long weekend.
If it rallies, it could be a great sign whether it is on low or heavy volume.

I do think the days of down days followed by down days are over. We will probably get this up one day, down the next until people develop enough confidence. Once the confidence returns, we should move up quickly. The bullishness among investors will result in more inflows into the market. Maybe that is why the contrarian indicators don't work as well these days---fund flows may alter the old theories. Just a thought.

Stocks like NT, Cisco, Nokia (telco equipment and wireless) held up pretty well today. In addition, the positive "news" on MSFT this evening could help tomorrow.
I expect a rally ahead the employment report next week as the risks to the shorts are a lot greater than to the longs in that report, IMHO.

For now the bears are having fun!
