Ted,OT AG. Go look at the posts I've put up on the subject. Look at the records of Volker vs Greenspan & compare the results of fiscal vs monitary views (Greenspan's idea of fiscal policy is 1 - 5% increase range for gods sake! -- A 5 fold range?).

Keep in mind that when I say that Oil & gas are 30% of UCPI I am referring to the feed-stocks. How long will it take for the oil price increase from $11.00/BBL to $30/BBL to filter through Dupont's resin plants to ASUSs MOBOS to the SD shops computers that aren't properly accounted for in the ucpi anyway? Easily 8 months? (Oil is refined to make the raw materials that make the resins that make the MOBOS.) Look at the comparisons of UCPI with and without the *RAW* oil/gas figures there(The sites and figures are in my past posts.). Most people think of Oil/Gas as a one - time effect that hits the inflation numbers one time, then is a wash. It continues for up to a year. Do some homework (the kind of DD you'd do before buying a stock) & get back to me in PM if you don't agree, but really care. I think the subject is about worn out on the thread.

End of rant!

I put in an order today to sell AMD & put the proceeds into near FMV(No time premium) Jun deep in the money calls today & failed to hit the targets 'cause I was out buying damn hogies for an office lunch. Damn, Damn, Damn. No trades resulted.

Ted,

Are you trying to rub salt into an open wound? <g>

I was just pointing to the fact that some stocks are broken more than others. We have had some FUD from the Bear analyst, some declaration that Intel overcame the shortage (later denied), all these new fabs to be built by Intel, but when the market is going down, any news is interpreted as a reinforcement of the fact that the sky is really falling.

The only thing I regret that I bought back too early in this down-cycle. But my core stock position is still there, not on margin, and still almost 100% over my purchase price.
