Great News - SUNW to expand its Scottish factory...
(Reuters 04:44 PM ET 05/25/2000)

Sun Microsystems Inc (SUNW)

SUN MICROSYSTEMS INC announced plans to invest 25.8 million pounds ($38 million) to expand its Scottish factory. Sun said the expansion would enable the plant at Linlithgow,
outside Edinburgh, to redesign final assembly so that products can be tailored and delivered "ready to use" to customers. "We will give them a product that's ready to plug in rather than a lot of boxes," spokeswoman Iona McCullagh told Reuters. "Our customers are so large and have such requirements that, rather than leave them to do it in the field, we do it on site under the eyes of our own engineers," she added. The time taken to produce and deliver products --workstations, enterprise servers and network systems -- will be shortened under the expansion plan, she added. The expansion will mean hundreds of new jobs at the plant and turn it into Sun's biggest manufacturing space.

Now it appears that SUNW does not have enough World Wide plant capacity. This is a good problem to have and I expect our management is working overtime to resolve it.

Keep those orders rolling in!!
