Mark,

What in my post leads you to think that I am being unrealistic?? Didn't I also say (as you are saying) that I can ask anything in His Name?

Even the most spiritual of us (regardless of our repsective faiths) have an innate aspect of our God given personalities that makes us worry, especially about our loved ones.

Without getting into an argument with you over how many "faiths" there are<g> , I agree with what you say here about how we worry for ourselves and our families and/or loved ones. And I agree that GOD put that in us, just as He loves us, and DIED for us, so we should also feel that way towards our families/loved ones/ neighbor.

I am sure that God would rather have be truthfull about what we are feeling and pray towards our true feelings and intentions, than any other falsities.

Yes , again I agree. and I thought that was what I was saying when I said if I am in the will of the Father,(He knows) then I will be truthful in my prayer.

Part of my point may have been something along the lines of this "prayer" """Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz, my friends all have......"""" well you get my point? :o)

NOW....IF....IF...IF I have in my heart to need and want that Mercedes I should also approach the throne of Grace with it. Would you venture to guess why??

Now Let me ASK you once more, Mark.

Do you think my request for comfort would look different than a fathers request from the Sudan, given current circumstances??

Thanks for your thoughts

dan
