ruffian: I find it kind of humorous, that you see absolutely no parallel between the two. If you were less enamored (I started to type "brainwashed") with the story, you might see what I am trying to describe. I can guarantee you there were some weird things which happened "at the top" of both price curves. I guess you think we live in a more honest world; can you say manipulation. In both cases, the market makers knew the stock was way ahead of itself, and certain insiders/institutions benefitted big time.
