"Days to cover" is the time it would take for the short interest to cover their positions by buying back that 3.8 million shares, assuming they were the only ones buying. As you could imagine, if it becomes necessary for shorts to cover, they will be competing for those shares with other buyers. (The news precipitating this kind of scenario would be awfully good.) End result is a rather sudden surge in price which could get quite steep. It is true that 3.8 million shares is only one high volume day, but again, they won't be the only ones buying.
Myself and quite a few of the institutional boys continue to collect shares at these level. The last count of institutional holdings was over 1 million shares and growing. Perhaps someone here has the link to that institutional list?
Looks awfully good for the future of XYBR and their long term shareholders.
