Taking the day off work to spend with my daughter on her 12th birthday Good for you! Taking off work for my daughters' birthdays is something I never thought I would do before I had kids. But it means so much to them, even if they don't always say it, and you both will usually remember the day long after, which wouldn't be the case with just another day at work.
