The next generation G4/74xx/G4+/G4e (seems to have many names depending on who you ask) will have support for external L3 (probably more than 2MB - have yet to see final design specs from Motorola).

But the 750CX and 750CXe which I was talking about in the previous post sound to me as though they are very unlikely to have support for L3 cache. Given the price range and the intended market, it's most likely that IBM didn't build support for an L3 cache into them - but we'll have to wait for the official IBM announcement to be sure.
