The difference between a company who cares about the small investor and SanDisk... _____________________________________________________________________________Vishay Sees No Reason for Stock Decline MALVERN, Pa., May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Felix Zandman, Chairman and CEO of Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) announced today that he is not aware of any company development that might be responsible for the recent decline in the price of its common stock. Dr. Zandman said "Business has never been stronger and we believe that the demand for our products will continue to grow in the future. We believe we can be beat current analyst's estimates for the year 2000. The average First Call estimate for year 2000 is $4.57 per share." siliconinvestor.com _____________________________________________________________________________ This is yet another reassuring press release in a series of press releases by this company...Message 13734909 _____________________________________________________________________________ I will take the flack for any disagreement with this post. VSH is a company with the guts to stand up and say something about this crazy market. Sometimes being silent is interpreted as being content, congruent or complicit with the tenor of the market.A brief, non-commital press release that said... "We believe SEG's divestiture is responsible for the recent volatility in our stock price. We see no change in the fundamental outlook for our company going forward." And, yes, I believe its is management's responsibility to the shareholders to issue forth a statement like this. If, in fact, SanDisk has spoken to and reassured institutional investors this week without issuing a formal press release of the nature of those discussions I find their silence to be criminal and reprehensible. This is coming from a small-time investor who believes and supports SanDisk management and believes he shares their long-term vision. SanDisk hurt many new investors this week by keeping their mouth zipped. It makes one wonder how completely out of touch they are with the individual investors who buy their products and form their customer base. Ausdauer
