That may be a mistake. What if AG's PMS is over? AMD's forward (DEC 2000) P/E is 15! according to the conservative estimates on yahoo.

Timing the market is fun and easy...

Re: I dumped everything at 74 1/2. I am very uncomfortable about next week

Kash the momentum trader,

Good luck. I'm VERY uncomfortable about the near term. I think you could probably get back in at the end of the day near $72 if you wanted to, there should be a sell off at the end of the day. Who wants to hold anything over the weekend though?

The market forces have let a little air out of the Naz bubble, but it's still inflated. It could burst at any time. On the other hand, if AG announced rate hikes are over, these morons would have the Naz up to 6000 by the end of next week. It's a very difficult situation to deal with now, on all sides.

For your sake, I hope you're able to get back in below 74, but we could open Monday at $80, or at $60, who knows in this market any more.

Re: I dumped everything at 74 1/2. I am very uncomfortable about next week.

Hi Kash,

I had lightened up by about a third, but just started getting back in. Durable goods pretty much collapsed, the savings rate is up, anecdotal talk of the housing market cooling off is starting to show up. We are probably at or near the end of this tightening cycle. Remember that it generally takes 6 months - minimum - for interest rate changes to be reflected in economic activity. Greenspan should be able to hold back the hawks at the next meeting.

We've had reassurances that AMD continues on track (and that Intel is still committed to RAMBUS for Willamette).

Any position has some risks associated with it, but I'd rather be in than out at this point.

(I've got some limit orders that haven't been filled yet, so please ignore the optimism in this message and keep selling - thank you for your cooperation)

:-)

Regards,

Dan

Kash: <<I dumped everything at 74 1/2.>>

Good Luck! I have a funny feeling that one of these days we diehards will be celebrating without you, and your absence will make our celebration less celebrating!
