Rick, the key is that you found an investment style that you were/are comfortable with, and it has worked for you. And thatn you would not necessarily suggest that for anyone else. We are all different in our level of risk adversity, our situations, ages, commitments, etc. For me, I can afford the risk of being invested at this point in time. Next month it might be different (though I doubt it), and 2-3 years from now it will be different still.

It is also good to remember that the average market appreciation, long term, is around 10%, not the crazy stuff we have seen the last couple of years. We are now paying the price for that. Furthermore, the indices and leaders are still valued much higher than they would be even in a bull market, so that the downside risk is higher than the upside, IMHO.
