Like all monopolies, the Government's "power" comes from us. Gates and Balmer got caught. And we've given the government power to have the role it's playing. There is a dangerous precedent which has been accelerating: government becoming the "moral" arbitor. Against tobacco, this that and the other thing. Extortion? Only IF the general populace doesn't become more involved for these fights should not be used to expand federal power. I'd like to see more power shift to our local neighborhoods, communities and state governments. The net will allow for this. I really think Washington D.C. will become a museum for this is the next monopoly that must fall. It's really up to us. The power is with each of us. That's why I'm so careful to not pile on here. I like to focus on the things that really matter: mindset, positioning, motivation. If someone is motivated to risk sharing time, energy and ideas to help and serve one's fellow man, this person should be put on a pedestal. If someone is motivated to USE their time, energy and ideas to take, hurt, limit energy and ideas from benefitting one's fellow man, this person should be exposed and given an opportunity to change. The net has a wonderful way of exposing people's motivations. Either we are giving or taking energy - creating or destroying trust, light, etc. I firmly believe that LOVE, truth and light is massively, massively more powerful than anything else in this universe. The freedom, energy, truth and openness which the net is spawning IS the Tsunami which exposes, arrests, challenges and uplifts everything in its wake. Forgive the blathering. But this is where I'm coming from. Gates and Balmer are like angry Wizards. They're not coming into the light. They are scrambling to find more curtains to hang out behind while they try to find more bottons and levers to blow more smoke and fire. Fear, power and control are the preferred weapons. This will be their downfall. For the rest of us have already seen Dorothy off in the balloon and are finding our own ways "back home." And we don't need to drag government into leading our vendettas to get us there. Peace. GO!!
