And a short term drop to 6 or 5 is a problem to a long term investor because.....? I'd say it presents an opportunity.
This latest decline on low volume coupled with an increase in short interest suggests one thing. The long term investors are holding, the institutions are slowly collecting, and the only people selling, other than day traders, are those who have to borrow the shares to sell. This gives investors a chance to increase holdings at lower prices and the institutions have a chance to increase positions at lower prices. And, if they are quick enough, the shorts get to make a profit when they begin to cover. It's all in the timing. Unfortunately, some short interest doesn't get covered in time and it usually isn't the big guns.
The company will continue to have the same dominant position in wearable computing, the same contractual relationships with IBM and TXN and the same bright future (IMO). Of course this is still a speculative investment and there is risk.
