The closest equivalent is CCRA. In general, Cdn law in this area is less friendly to the company, and is harder to merge from. However, the trend is more towards a US type.

The petitioning company can present a plan, similar to the US pattern. However, it is IMHO a little more binary, so the creditor's committee has less power unless they act to kill the company. And yes, the common shareholders take it....

I don't see bankruptcy, because Corel's debt is not it's problem.
