Pomp, I certainly hope that a lot of longs were buying today evening. Shorts dont want to be holding over a long weekend either, and they could have been covering too - if I were a short, I dont want to wake up Tuesday to find that the ITC has made its final determination in favor of rmbs in the Hitachi suit.

pomp.. >Now, on a no volume, pre-holiday Friday it perks up right at the close with some nice action.<

Yes pomp, that was interesting. I followed it right to the end. I was debating whether or not to hold over the weekend until I saw the buyers come in. Tuesday will be interesting. Also maybe we'll get some more Taiwan news on Monday.

Pomp, right now I can only venture the opinion that this final minutes rush was more related to "end of the month" window dressing (easy to do when the professional short sellers are taking a long weekend), and "marking up the book" so further distribution can occur. Right now, I would say that unless $217 is "taken out", we are still in a downtrend (you know the bottom <VBG>), and my bet is that any few days rally next week will be stopped under $200.

Good luck.
