Thank you very much for the article on patent marketplaces. The title of the article was composed to shock. However, "The buying and selling of brainpower" is just another way of saying "The latest news on Intellectual Property," which wouldn't be all that exciting of a title.

However I like the idea that smaller colleges, businesses, institution, etc. would now have a more efficient and costly way to put out the word about their intellectual property. I think that these marketplaces should have a lot of category breakdowns for subject matter and type of institution seeking or selling intellectual property so that the gems from smaller enterprises can be sorted out from all of those IBM patents. These should be easy to do with a good database and well-defined queries.
I didn't really trouble me that companies like IBM or ICGE would have dominant roles because big companies work on a lot of projects and some of their under a billion dollar market discards might be perfectly fine for smaller companies to commercialize.
