There is also the opposite problem. Many people I know did not buy Qcom at $ 150 because they were waiting for the next correction. Now they don't want to buy because it's going down. So when exactly will they actually buy?

Great point! It must be human nature, because I can sympathize with this train of thought :) ! However, there is never a point in time when stocks get cheaper and the market/economic outlook stays the same. It just doesn't happen, as we all know...

It is in times like these that it is really important for me to focus on long term fundamentals, as hard as it may be. It's never easy to watch one's portfolio drop by 35-40% (as mine has!), but knowing that I have a longer time horizon than most people investing in the market certainly has its perks!

BWDIK!

Good observation. When a stock like QCOM is at $150 and rising our emotions say "I should have bought when I was thinking about it at $90, that was a no-brainer and I missed it. Next time it drops under $100 I'm gonner back up the truck." Later, if indeed it does fall under $100, few are backing up those trucks. It's just too scarry.
