Lightchip Expands Operations
New Facilities Opened for Sales, Marketing and Manufacturing

SALEM, N.H., May 26 /PRNewswire/ -- To meet explosive growth, Lightchip, Inc. today announced the opening of a new facility at 1 Stiles Road in Salem, New Hampshire. Lightchip is the manufacturer of Versalight(TM), an advanced optical network platform ideally suited for metro implementations.

``Quite simply, we've outgrown our original location at 5 Industrial Way in Salem,'' said Bill Peck, President and CEO. ``We have relocated marketing, sales and administration to 1 Stiles Road to give them and engineering room for growth. The engineering staff will remain at our original location with 8,500 square feet for continued use while the Stiles Road office will add another 7,500 square feet.''

But corporate growth doesn't stop there! ``In addition, we're opening a pilot manufacturing facility at 19 Keywadin Drive in Salem,'' Peck continued. ``This facility will offer another 8,500 square feet for manufacturing operations.''

Ultimately, Lightchip plans to consolidate all operations in a new location to be built this year. ``Working with the Town of Salem, Opechee Construction and our broker, Chris Goodnow, we hope to break ground on a 65,000 square feet facility on Northwestern Drive in Salem this summer,'' noted Peck. This building will house both office and manufacturing space.

Lightchip's products significantly improve the cost and performance of fiber optic networks by enabling the integration of dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) and wavelength routing into metro loops, cable hybrid fiber/coax systems and short haul fiber applications.
