My interest are biotechs and stocks that will address future problems that we "earthlings" bring on ourselves. I think the next great shortage that we will face is one of having adequate water supplies. Recent consolidation in water related stocks makes it difficult to find stocks to invest at this time. Azurix is one, but they are tied up in a California fiasco that will take years to resolve. If only they had asked me about California envirnomental agendas and the related political forces that rule the state.
Another area that I have concerns, is the issue of global warming. Recent news reports only confirms....."Folks! This old planet is heating up." Having a cousin who is a former astronaut, and having him relate what he has seen from space, we aren't doing a very good job of protecting our ozone layer. Sure! There are the Rush Limbaughs who would dispute this issue, but this is the same man who states that most Americans are satisfied with their health insurance...totally ignoring the fact that it isn't the issue of being satisfied with one's insurance coverage, but rather those that don't have medical insurance. (Enough of my anti-Limbaugh diatribe)

As it relates to this issue of global warming, a stock that I think has great potential is Southwall Technology(SWTX).(Yes! I own the stock)What they do isn't rocket science, but it does address the issue of protecting our home, offices, cars and even the computer screen that you are probably looking at as you read this message. Their current client list reads like a who's who of the automobile industry and the fact that Robert Stempel, former Chairman of General Motors has recently joined their board of directors, speaks volumes as to their growing product line for this industry. Currently they are bringing on line a new production facility in Dresden, Germany to supply the European market, also adds value to the company.

Let me conclude by stating that anyone that has an interest in the biotech area, should look at Titan Pharmaceuticals(TTP). Their alliance with Novartis for their schizophrenia drug(ZOMARIL),will IMO be a block-buster drug.

I get an amazing amount of relaxation from pulling weeds by hand, making everything which is supposed to be there look good and presentable in its place.

For whatever reason, the market is the one true juxtaposition to an otherwise orderly lifestyle.
