Thanks for the sage advice. I'm going to stick by my convictions for now. Accepting $19 is a small loss. I've had worse.

I wouldn't be surprised to see BOL or another company leap into the fray at this price, but the fact is that the sector is still very young and quite risky for the big blue chips. Yet, an aggressive dominant player with the technology owned by Summit Autonomous could sweep away the competition.

I expected the wavefront device to become Summit's biggest revenue generator within a couple of years.

It's sad to see BEAM go to a closely held company for so little, but perhaps management felt the value of their technology and patents would be limited in the current price competitive climate marked by VISX's recent move.

I really doubt the altruistic motives cited by management in the press releases. There is more to this story than is currently being told. They either sold the company because it was not as valuable as we stockholders were inclined to believe, or something something something about something that we stockholders do not know about.

Either way, there is a ripe smell of carp wafting from the Summit Autonomous boardroom. You just don't [practically] give away a multi-patented high tech high revenue generator that is years ahead of the competition to make a few doctors happy.

Still long BEAM,
HerbVic
