that looks like a great tweak! i didn't realize that was what you were looking for. i'll make that regedit later today. thanks for the heads up.

i just finished installing the ecleaner program (from a few posts back). i like it. does a good job. be sure to read the faq's and bugs before installing. and one download site seems to be preferred over all others.

i made that 'live scrolling' edit in my registry. backed up the registry first, of course. it's a good tweak.

while i was in there [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\8.0\Word\Options] i noticed something that gave me pause... a string named EnableMacroVirus...

it wasn't until i clicked on it and hit enter and it expanded that i saw the full name... EnableMacroVirusProtection. <g3> yes, it is turned on.
